Zee Media / Bureau: Both the BJP candidates will fill up the forms for the Rajya Sabha elections today. Elections to the two Rajya Sabha seats vacated by the demise of Ahmed Patel of the Congress and Abhay Bhardwaj of the BJP from Gujarat will be held on March 1. The last date for withdrawal of candidature papers is February 22. Voting will take place on March 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The BJP has announced two candidates for this election. In which Rambhai Mokria and Dinesh Prajapati have got tickets from BJP. However, Congress has not yet announced any candidates.

BJP's Rajya Sabha candidate Rambhai is a native of Porbandar. They have one daughter and two sons. He has been associated with Vidyarthi Parishad, Sangh Parivar and VHP since 1976. He has very good relations with Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Rupani. He joined BJP after joining Jana Sangh in 1978. In 1989, he became a councilor for the first time in the municipality. He has been a state executive member of the BJP. He has held several BJP posts in Porbandar. He started Maruti Courier in 1985 with the first Travels business. They are also involved in farming. BJP has saved Saurashtra and North Gujarat in Rajya Sabha elections. Along with Rambhai Mokria, BJP leader in North Gujarat and state president of Gujarat BJP Bakshipanch Morcha Dinesh Prajapati has been given a ticket. Dinesh Prajapati Disa is the BJP leader.

 

Congress will not announce candidate - Sutra

However, no candidate has been declared by the Congress yet. According to sources, the Congress will not field a candidate as it has no hope of winning the Rajya Sabha elections. This is because a separate manifesto has been issued instead of one for the Rajya Sabha elections. So Congress does not have enough legislators to win. Thus, the Congress has lost. So that it does not announce candidates. If the Congress does not announce a candidate, both the BJP candidates will be uncontested winners. Voting will take place on March 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The counting of votes will take place on March 1 at 5 pm.
